The Arthurdale Tirekickers Club is hosting Christmas with Santa on Friday, December 14 at Arthurdale Heritage. Doors open at 7 p.m. and Santa arrives at 7:30 p.m. There will be free cocoa and cookies plus a gift for all good little girls and boys. A professional photographer will be taking photos, which will be available online for purchase.

This year, get your (Decorated!) Christmas Tree from Arthurdale Heritage

This year, consider getting your Christmas tree at the Arthurdale Festival of Trees.  These fully decorated trees and wreaths will be available for auction Friday and Saturday.

Bid on a Space Tree, a Vintage 1940s Tree, a West Virginia Lottery Tree, a Cat Lover’s Tree, Fishing Wreath, and other numerous holiday trees and wreaths. Also the Arthurdale Heritage Craft Shop will be open and children can write Letters to Santa with the help of some elves.  On Sunday there will also be  family holiday photos and horse-drawn wagon rides around Eleanor’s Little (Christmas) Village.

Available Trees

Space Tree – 4ft., white tinsel tree decorated with a space theme. Ornaments include several collectible Hallmark ornaments from Star Trek and Star Wars as well as planets and other fun decorations.
Donated by the Barnes-Marra family of Arthurdale.

Vintage 1940s Tree – A 6 ft. artificial evergreen tree decorated with antique ornaments from the 1940s.

Advent Calendar Box with Feather tree donated by Darlene Bolyard. Each drawer has a small ornament you put on the tree.

Snowman Feather tree donated by Darlene Bolyard.

WV Lottery Tree – A live tree decorated with $100 in WV lottery tickets donated by Rich Painter, Garden Creations.

Cat Lover’s Tree – a 6 ft., professionally decorated evergreen tree donated by P.U.R.R., a cat rescue and rehabilitation shelter in Taylor County. 50% of the profits from this tree will be donated to P.U.R.R.

Tree of Joy – A 6 ft. white tree with “mid-century” decorations.

The Affordable Signs Unlimited tree is decorated with mini sign samples and includes a $20 gift certificate.

American Cancer Society Memorabilia tree donated by Lindsy Whittaker.

Other decorated Christmas trees will also be donated by MountainPath Properties, LLC, Missy Hartsell, Alisha Myers, Dee Hayes, and Kathryn Burton.

Available Wreaths

Fishing Wreath – M & M Woodworks of Terra Alta is donating a wreath with a fishing theme for sportsmen. In the center of the wreath is a wooden scrollsawed silhouette picture of a fish jumping out of water and the slogan “Gone fishin'”. It can be removed for display on a wall. Eight handcrafted and handpainted wooden fishing lures are the ornaments on the wreath. They can be removed and used for fishing. While these lures have been made with quality product and are designed to catch The Big One, M & M Woodworks can assume no responsibility for the one that gets away. Decorated by David McCloud

Join us December 18 at 7 pm for a visit with Santa Claus at the Arthurdale Center Hall. Bring the kids and have their pictures taken with Santa.

Hot Chocolate and cookies for all beginning at 7pm.

Santa will be arriving on a Big Red Firetruck at 7:30 and will have a gift for all boys and girls!

Craft Shop Christmas Hours

The Arthurdale Heritage Craft Shop will be open Saturdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas for your holiday shopping convenience.  Find unique handcrafted gifts from West Virginia artists for your friends and family.  New Arthurdale Heritage souvenirs available include our newest Cat’s Meow of the E-15 Homestead.

We will be open the first Saturday, November 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  For all other Saturdays through December 19, we will be open 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Craft Shop Winter Hours

The Craft Shop will be open Tuesday-Friday, noon to 4 p.m.    Please stop by and see our the wide range of  items hand made by West Virginia artisans.

Items available are: Allegheny Treenware, pottery, jams & jellies, hard tack candy, peanut butter crunch, honey, soap, books, jewelry, afghans, handmade towels, tatted and crocheted items as well as items commemorating the life and work of President and Mrs.  Roosevelt.

Also pick up an Arthurdale souvenir including the newest Cat’s Meow building, the Arthurdale Service Station.
