We ask that guests please arrive 5-10 minutes before your tour is scheduled to start. You will check in and begin your tour at our craft shop where you can pick out a souvenir while you wait. An ADA restroom is also available in the craft shop. Please allow about an hour and thirty minutes for your entire visit to Arthurdale.

Your tour will begin in the Administration building, where you will be guided through an overview of Arthurdale’s history and what life was like here. Your next stop will be in the Forge before seeing two vintage Co-op tractors in one of our garage bays. You will then walk up to the Esso pumps to see a view of the town and learn about other locations such as the former Arthurdale Inn. To finish the tour, you will walk through our museum house, E-15, which is an original house decorated to look as it might have in the 1930s. For a final treat, you can meet the homestead goats before returning to the craft shop.

If you are booking a tour group of more than 10 people, please contact us for special pricing and scheduling to ensure that we have enough guides for your group. Large tour groups can also opt to have a lunch on site for an additional cost. Contact for more information.

Free Tours for Children under 10 and Preston County Youth: Although these tours are free, we ask that you still add the total number of tickets for them to your cart, so that we can plan for the correct number of people.

Museums for All Benefit:  Free admission for up to four people with presentation of a SNAP/EBT card.  To receive this benefit, you must show your card upon arrival.  You may call ahead to let us know about your visit or just show up shortly before the time when you would like to take your tour.  There is no need to book online for this benefit.  We are proud to participate in Museums for All to provide access to local history to everyone in our community!
