At Arthurdale, history is fun. Those who came to the New Deal Festival on July 13 enjoyed the toe-tapping music, food, and demonstrations of historic crafts. Weaving provided employment for numerous homesteader families in the 1930s and ‘40s, and a new exhibit commemorates that connection to the past. Many enjoyed the horse-drawn wagon tour of the historic community. An eagle from the West Virginia Raptor Center made the children ooh and aah. The antique cars, trucks, and tractors on display did the same for their elders. Hope to see you at the next festival on July 12, 2014!
A HUGE THANKS to all of our wonderful volunteers who helped to make it a success. We cannot thank you enough, and we would not be able to host this event without you!
