Enjoy historic Arthurdale dotted with 1930s New Deal homes & run with the friendly goats in our annual Goat Gallop 5k! Visit an original homestead, pet the goats, & join us in celebrating homestead life.
An untimed 1 mile Kids Race course is available for children 10 and younger.
Join us after the races for family-friendly fun and activities with the goats! Healthy snacks and refreshments to recharge your body will be provided.
The 2024 race is June 1, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.
8:00am-9:00am: Registration and packet pick-up
9:00am: Race begins
9:15am: Kids' Race begins
11:00am: Awards
12:00pm: End of event
Goat Gallop 5k parking is located in the yard of Arthurdale Heritage's museum house E-15 at 112 Q Rd. Arthurdale, WV 26520.

COURSE
The course runs through beautiful, rural Arthurdale and is mostly flat with one steep grade. The course is measured and is 3.1 miles long. The kid’s run is measured at 1 mile long and flat. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome to participate in the 5k.
AWARDS
Top overall male and female 5k finisher will receive a prize. Top male and female finisher in each age category will receive a medal. All participants in the kid’s race will receive a medal.
AGE CATEGORIES
Run: under 10, 11-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-over
Walk: under 10, 11-16, 17-39, 40-59, 60-over
10 and under: Kid’s Race* (1 mile, all participants receive a medal)
*All ages are welcome in the 5k Run/Walk with parental permission. For event tshirt, race number, and ranking, registration is required.
