The sun shined through the rain clouds on the day before Easter so that 70 eager children could seek and find colorful Easter eggs on the Arthurdale Heritage grassy Square. Â This annual event was sponsored by Arthurdale Heritage, Inc. (AHI) and Valley Elementary Service Club. Â AHI presented a gift to each child and the fifth grade service club hand-decorated Easter bags filled with treats for all participants. Â Volunteers from the Mt. Vernon Climbers 4-H Club, under the leadership of Debbie Wilhelm, assisted in the event.
Grand prize winners were: Pre-school, Aspen Radabaugh and Jameelah Cress; Kindergarten, Nate Cale; 1st grade, Kristen Greathouse; 2nd grade, Jolee Kyle; 3rd grade, Austin Kelly; 4th and up, Holly Albright.
Mt. Vernon Climbers 4-H members who volunteered were: Â Colin Fisher, Elizabeth Livengood, Alli Smith, Brianna Grimes, Dawn Kelly, Austin Kelly, Ethan Kelly, Nick Smith, Melissa Sova, John Harris, Kaylyn Harris, and James Livengood.
