After school Art Event with Friends of Deckers Creek

January 13 @ 5:00 pm 6:00 pm

Deckers Creek is a scenic watershed that flows through Preston and Monongalia counties. Unfortunately, years of various pollutants like acid mine drainage (AMD) and sewage overflows have heavily degraded segments of the creek. Friends of Deckers Creek works to sustainably manage and clean the watershed through remediation projects, community outreach, and environmental education.  FODC routinely collects field data to track how effective their remediation projects are working, and they rely on sound scientific data from both staff and volunteer scientists.

During this event, kids will do a sculptural art project recreating some of their favorite places in the great outdoors! This event is happening in place of our regular art class and is free to attend.
