Terry Day Arthurdale Poem

Terry Day Arthurdale Poem
Description
An assortment of displays of homesteader descendant Terry Day’s original poem, “Arthurdale”.
The poem reads: “Rising from the valley, woods, and hills / Borne of coal miner dreams and promises / to be out from dirt floor ills. / On Fairfax and Arthurland / They came to build a better life. / Forging homes and farms. Make a stand. / With a sleepy creek, rolling vista view. / Lettered roads and center hub / Lives were changed, homes anew. / Guiding the visions and direction of all / A New Deal angel watched over the fold, / and of solider sons and daughters who answered the call, / A new heritage then arose, / celebrating success and family legacies. / Bringing homesteaders together, neighbors close”
