Jenny Bardwell will be teaching another bread making class here! Come get a taste of nostalgia at our salt rising and sourdough class on Monday, January 13th from 5:30-7:30. Jenny is an experienced baker, researcher, teacher, creator of Rising Creek Bakery, and co-author of Salt Rising Bread: Recipes and Heartfelt Stories of a Nearly Lost Appalachian Tradition.
Class is limited to only 15 people. Participants will get hands-on experience kneading bread, learn all 3 stages of salt rising and sourdough, plus hear the science and global history of this bread that originated in Appalachia. Each participant will leave with recipes, freshly baked salt risin’ bread, and an authentic sourdough starter.
Participants just need to bring an apron!
