“1942: Arthurdale and the War” at the 2012 New Deal Festival

Come experience Arthurdale the summer after the beginning of WWII! This one day event will have something for everyone to enjoy.

1942 on Display
This year we are very fortunate to have been loaned numerous pieces of New Deal and FDR political memorabilia from the private collection or Robert Fratkin. It is an amazing exhibit and the New Deal Festival is a wonderful opportunity to see it!

Living history will also be on display when we welcome Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt back to our event as well as reenactors portraying individuals and WWII military recruiters from 1942.

Antique Car, Truck, Tractor, and Motorcycle Show
The Antique Car, Truck, Tractor Show is being expanded to include antique motorcycles this year. Registration is $10.00. Proceeds from the car show will be used to buy presents for community children at the annual Christmas with Santa event in December.

Quilt Show
Our annual Quilt Show will take place at the Arthurdale Inn.

Kid’s Activities
The kids will have a lot of fun with our games, demonstrations, and a collection of farm animals to feed and pet.

Live Entertainment! Wagon Rides and more!
We have a wonderful lineup of local jazz, and bluegrass music that will be playing on the Center Hall front porch. Also, we’ll have horse-drawn wagon rides through Arthurdale all day.

If you have questions, please email us at ahi@arthurdaleheritage.org or call 304-864-3959. Looking forward to seeing you on July 14!
